A Real Problem, A Real Solution: The Visibility Dashboard

One of the critical challenges uncovered in the field is the lack of visibility for Area Education Officers (AEOs) into teacher performance. While AEOs are responsible for monitoring multiple schools, they have no easy way to access role-specific, real-time insights.

They need to know:

  • Which teachers are using lesson plans consistently

  • Who is completing training modules

  • Where transfers or underperformance may be affecting quality

The FDU team is now working on an Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for a role-aware dashboard that gives AEOs, principals, and other stakeholders actionable insights. For example, an AEO would only see performance data for schools in their own region.

On the Inside, By Design: Taleemabad’s Forward Deployment Model

Our Forward Deployment Unit (FDU) is built to bridge the gap between product development and on-ground realities. Unlike traditional teams that operate primarily from offices, the FDU team works directly in the field, engaging daily with government officials, Area Education Officers (AEOs), school principals, and other key stakeholders.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: identify real user problems through direct observation, validate assumptions with rapid prototyping, and deliver Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that address the most urgent needs. Once an MVP is tested and approved, it is handed over to our product and engineering teams for long-term integration into the main application.

Notification Feature

With the new Notification feature, FDE can now directly send official messages to teachers. It also allows tracking of how many teachers have read the notification and how many are yet to view it  enabling timely communication with no delays.

Our Process: Stack Ranking for What Matters Most

Every problem we tackle follows a clear cycle:

Designing for Impact, Not Just Features

To ensure the dashboard truly meets user needs, we are gathering feedback and requirements directly from AEOs. Our approach includes:

  • Field Interviews and Persona Building to understand their daily work, challenges, and tech comfort level

  • Feedback Questions on dashboard usability, relevance of data, and desired improvements

  • Requirement Gathering to learn what insights would help them act faster and more effectively

Community Feature

The Community feature is a first-of-its-kind platform integrated into the existing app in Pakistan that brings the concept of peer-to-peer learning to life. It allows teachers to share their teaching experiences, challenges, and best practices a true example of "Seekhen aur Sikhaen" (Learn and Teach).

Balochistan Dashboard

Balochistan Dashboard

The Balochistan Dashboard is a powerful, interactive tool that allows users to view school sign-ups, usage, and engagement trends by territory. It provides clear visibility and strong evidence to decision-makers for identifying territory-specific challenges and designing targeted solutions.

We are focused on known problem statements to get tested solutions into users’ hands quickly. Field visits will ensure we capture real-world impact. Together they will provide real world solutions to real world problems.

Why This Matters

The Forward Deployment model is not about building for users, but building with users. By embedding ourselves in their environments, we cut through assumptions, validate what works, and remove what does not. The Visibility Dashboard is just one example of how this approach delivers relevant, high-impact solutions that directly support better decision-making in education.

Stay tuned for updates as we test, learn, and deliver solutions that move the needle where it matters most in the classrooms and communities we serve.
